Energy Performance

From 30th December 2008 it has been the law that if you are selling, renting or leasing a building you need to provide an energy performance certificate.

The legislation covering Northern Ireland is the Energy Performance of Buildings (Certificates and Inspections) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2008, SR2008/170 amended by SR2008/241.

The legislation covers Commercial, Public and Residential buildings. There are different requirements for each building type which are outlined below.

Residential Buildings

All Residential Buildings require an Energy Performance Certificate before they are sold, leased or rented.

Our residential EPCs cost £59.00 + VAT.

Commercial Buildings

All Commercial Buildings require an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) before they are advertised for sale, to lease or rent. New buildings also require an EPC before the final certificate is issued by Building Control.

Our assessors are qualified to Level 3/4/5, are accredited through BRE/NHER and use only approved SBEM software. We can produce EPCs in a quick professional manner at a time most convenient to the client.

Our EPCs start from as little as £150.00 + VAT

Public Buildings

All Public Buildings require a Display Energy Certificate (DEC)  which shows its operational rating (OR) and are valid for 1 year.

All of the above EPCs come with an advisory report  (AR) which outlines actions and initiatives that can be implemented to improve the energy performance of the building. Planet can advise on the specification and installation of high efficiency products/systems.
